5 generations of horses selected over 30 years
The selection started with a foal called NARCISSE Castelmir who became a stallion and was the supreme champion in 1990.
We then worked to preserve the qualities of good character and drive which he brought, marrying them to those of mares who had the attributes that we were interested in for the future. These include maternal qualities, balance: and slightly greater height (approx 1,5 m).
Thus, we bred Chico de Sié who combined all these qualities and who reached the standard of Supreme Champion. We continued with his son, Jaffar de Sié, and now today Real de Sié, who is producing outstanding foals, the 5th generation from Narcisse.
This summarises the selection on the male side. We have the same objectives for the females except progress was slower as a mare has only one foal at best per year and we cannot judge the outcome until the foals are at least 4 years old and have had some training.
Work on the male lines also requires us to avoid the introduction of the chestnut gene in breeding.

As a result, our 4 stallions are all homozygous black and non carriers of the chestnut gene, around 1.52 m tall, of a very good character, able to be harnessed in 4’s at events or in pairs at summer weddings and classed as “Elite” by the National Stud at the Leisure Qualification.
They can also be ridden amongst the herds on the plains and in the high mountains where they are responsible for the brood mares during the summer.
